I'm 14 weeks pregnant and I still can't believe it. But as my body expands, the reality of my present state gets harder to avoid. At my last doctor appointment they couldn't find a heart beat so we did another ultra sound.

The baby's spine is on the bottom (and yes, the picture is upside down, but it is easier to figure it out this way), the head is on the left and the legs are on the right. I got to see the baby kicking out his/her legs during the ultra sound, which was quite cool. My next ultra sound is scheduled for May 5th and we are praying they will be able to tell us whether we are having a boy or a girl.

While I can still get around relatively unhampered by my ever expanding girth, we decided to have a nice family day. So yesterday we took the kids to the carnival set up down the road.

Gregory's favorite ride, and thus Gabrielle's too, was the one where they traveled in a circle at top speed. Gregory loves the feel of the pressure as he is pushed back in his seat. Gabrielle loves her brother and thus emulates him in opinion whenever appropriate.

The children were fooled by this ride, called "The Spider." It was a kid's ride made to look like it offered the thrills of a "grown up ride." Gregory was not impressed. Gabrielle probably would have enjoyed it more had Gregory not been so vocal about not being impressed.

The kids enjoyed the grown up version much better.

Since the children preferred higher thrill value rides, Kurt decided to get in on the action.

The three of them set out to conquer the park.

For old times' sake, Gregory and Gabrielle rode the dragon roller coaster. They enjoyed it still, especially Gabrielle.

After awhile, the big challenge beckoned the family members with testosterone.

Kurt later admitted he wouldn't have attempted The Inverter had Gregory not suggested it.

Here are my boys suspended upside down.

After awhile, the family had pulled too many Gs, so we headed off for a nice lunch break. Then, we went back to the carnival where Kurt and the kids rode on as many high thrill rides as they could, until Gregory literally lost his lunch. Whoops.

By this time the sun was dipping in the sky. We headed out to the beach for awhile to watch the sunset. Though the water is still cold and it was a bit chilly, the beach was just lovely. For me, it was the perfect end to the day.

For years I have been admiring these beautiful purple wild flowers that proliferate during the Spring.

I'm hoping someone can tell me the name of this flower and perhaps a little about it. This is one of the few "weeds" I really like and encourage to grow.

Slowly I have been washing the fleece I got from Cary at Serenity Farms.

I don't have a lot of space in the kitchen where we are staying so I must get creative. I am really looking forward to being done with the washing! Cary's fiber is so beautiful and so soft! I really want to make myself a sweater with this!
